This costume was frequently used to advertise the play "Becket" in which Maude was playing Rosamund De Clifford. It appears on many postcards but I have only shown unique images below as many postcards just used clipped or magnified versions of these.
Note that Act II, Scene I of Becket is set in Rosamund's Bower, a garden of flowers in the midst of which is "a bank
of wild-flowers with a bench before it". This scene is suggested in many of the postcards below.
